Fernando J. Portuondo is a cornerstone of our legal team, bringing more than a quarter-century of experience in all aspects of real estate law, including commercial and residential acquisitions and conveyances, construction, term and permanent financing, leasing, development and construction, title insurance, 1031 exchanges, and real property litigation. He also handles corporate transactional matters, ensuring comprehensive legal support for his clients, including corporate acquisitions and sales, corporate financing, asset-based lending, and preparation of all types of operating agreements, joint venture and partnership agreements, and co-development agreements. Fernando is Board Certified as an expert and specialist in Real Estate Law by The Florida Bar, which only approx. 7% of lawyers in Florida have achieved. His practical approach and commitment to effective solutions help clients achieve their legal, business, and personal objectives with excellence. Graduating cum laude from Tulane Law School in 1995, Fernando was selected for a federal judicial clerkship and served as a writer and editorial member for the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors from the University of Florida.

Fernando’s career includes notable roles as a title agent for Attorneys’ Title Insurance Fund, Inc. and Old Republic National Title Insurance Company for 25 years, earning multiple President’s Circle Awards, which recognizes an elite group of the top 100 agents statewide out of a membership in excess of 4,000. He is admitted to practice in Florida, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

A dedicated member of several professional associations, including the Florida Bar and Cuban American Bar Association, Fernando is also a respected lecturer on real estate, corporate law, and title insurance. Fluent in English and Spanish, he is committed to guiding clients through complex legal landscapes with clarity and precision.
